If you want the news you came to the right place, pal!

January 17, 2010:

New songs on the way! "Lovesong," and "Save the Last Clap."

January 15, 2010:

The band plays a short but lovely set at Beloit College's Music House. We are also working on getting to record and get everything done for new album. It SHOULD be ready for COC's 1st anniversary in February.

December 1, 2009:

Well, it's been a while since there's been news, but I guess we've been playing and all as usual, but nothing new has happened worth mentioning here. There will be a new album ready after Christmas. It has yet to be titled.

September 30, 2009:

Show announced at the C Haus on this Frisday! and also the new songs have been added to the site.

September 27, 2009:

Recently finished writing and demo recording "Buggin'," "Slow Clap," and "Movies." They'll be up in a week or so. Also the band has started playing shows again, finally. Also, more lyrics have been added.

September 10, 2009:

There seems to be a major lack of news, but Clap Out Cloud will be playing sometime soon. There have been talks of playing at an open mic thing next week or something. Also the (evangelical) Christian coffee shop in Beloit asked Philip to play a set there one night and he's thinking pretty hard about doing it. Maybe change some of the lyrics: "To have a God, who likes to save save save save,"  "That man looked like Jesus, and he actually was," "If I didn't have God, I'd go to Hell. But I do have God, so let's clap/pray."

August 21, 2009:

Just put up a couple of the newly recorded songs. "Closed Caption, Open Clappin'" and "Trav'lin'" are up, and "California Claps/Harder Than ypu Think/Clappin' Under Water" will be up soon along with (possibly) "Cats," and "Ponies."

Also the lyrics page has been changed so now you just click the song you wish to see instead of scrolling through all of the lyrics. Hopefully that makes things easier.

August 20, 2009:

After being inspired over a week ago, (via Aidan, via Kevin Gregg) Philip finally finishes writing "Slow Clap."

Also a song about the importance of washing one's hands is in progress.

And of course, the songs about one arm clapping and clapping under water are nearly there.

.

.

August 16, 2009:

Sorry for the long hiatus (lol), but new songs will be up promptly. 3 of them I believe...just need to add clap tracks to them. Also "The C.O.C." albums are finished and ready for shipment, sale, donation, whathaveyou.

Also new songs in progress: "Slow Clap," "Clapin' the mornin'," and "Total eclipse of the clap"

.

.

August 1, 2009:

"The C.O.C." album artwork released on "tunes" page. Along with three new songs, "Feet," "Can't Clap in Space," and "Hi-Five." Also a picture of dog appears under "Dogs.mp3"

July 27, 2009:

Leland Meiner's becomes the 100th visitor to COCOA, and will be rewarded hansomely. Hint: It sounds like Clap Out Cloud.

.

July 23, 2009:

"Can't Clap in Space" is recorded and Philip thinks "I'm glad that's done." It seems he doesn't think it's gonna be as much of a hit as some of the other tunes. Also, Philip said "I'm almost done with a song about one hand clapping, and working on a few others as well."

.

July 22, 2009:

Philip plays a show at devoted fan Drew's house. With the absence of Jack and Hanna, band friend and top 5 fan, Nick, fills the shoes of Jack perfectly as he forgets/blows the lyrics to "Clap Lights" as well.

Also news-worthy on the night, Clap Out Cloud finally plays with fitting co-act Seasonal Men's Wear for a wonderfully receptive and fun loving audience.

.

July 14th, 2009:

New songs added to the site! Both live and brand new summer song recordings added to the tunes section. Also, site finally updated.

June 29ish, 2009:

"Girl's Softball Girls" is finally recorded.

June 28, 2009:

Both "AAMClap," and "Cats" are recorded.

June let's say 20, 2009:

Nick's computer "crashes," and he claims he can't do a split EP with Clap Out Cloud.

June 9, 2009:

Nick (band fan and friend) offers an oppurtunity to make a split acoustic ep with COC and himself. I sort of agreed...

June 7, 2009:

Two songs recorded, "The Clap" (about gonorrhea) and "Captain Clapton" (about Eric Clapton).

 May 30, 2009:
